For Parents Guide


Welcome to Timberlane Regional High School’s PowerSchool for Parents. This information will get you started using PowerSchool. PowerSchool for parents is easy to use and will allow you to take a more active role in your child’s education.

PowerSchool offers parents/guardians real-time access to grades attendance and class information. The PowerSchool link is available anywhere in the world, just by logging into the internet. All information is secure and information about your child is only available to you.

You will be receiving your username and password on the first day of school. Your child will be given a packet in homeroom the first day of school and on the pink registration sheet about 3 quarters of the way down will be your assigned username and password. Please remember to write it down, we are not going to be able to give out the information through email or phone. If you forget it you will be required to come into the school to obtain the information. This is for security reasons.

To enter the PowerSchool program:

• You can log in to PowerSchool for
parents by using any web browser. Type this address in the address bar: tps.timberlane.net (Do not type in “www” before it)

• On the PowerSchool login screen, enter your confidential user name. On the next line, type in the password exactly as it appears on your parent registration form. Click the enter button.

Note: Do not forget to Log Off when you are done in PowerSchool. Click on the Log Out Button.


Tips and Items to Consider:

• Blue words/numbers are hyperlinks. By clicking on them, you can find more detailed information.
• Keep your username and password in a safe place. Your password protects your information. DO NOT share it with anyone. If you lose it you will have to come to the school to pick it up. We will not tell you your username or password via email or on the phone.
• Please be patient when waiting for grades to be submitted. It is not realistic to expect teachers to enter grades on the same day as an assignment is due. Teachers are required to update PowerSchool every two weeks.
• Changes in your child’s grade may seem to occur rapidly. The grade book instantly recalculates the overall grade based on every assignment entered. Please contact your child’s teacher if you have any confusion about what you see.
• In order to contact your child’s teacher via email you will put in the first letter of the teachers first name and their full last name @timberlanehs.com: example Krista Warren, kwarren@timberlanehs.com. Click here for Staff Directory

Once you’ve logged onto PowerSchool, you will see a menu bar at the top of the screen. The default screen that appears is the Grades & Attendance screen.

Here is a brief description of each option:

• Grades and Attendance – Displays the current quarter grade, Last week’s and this week’s attendance, and the current attendance totals for the year.
• Grades History – Displays all previous grades for the current.
• Attendance History – Displays attendance for the current year.
• Email Notification – Not in Use
• Teacher Comments – Displays all teacher current comments.
• School Bulletin – Displays school announcements.
• Class Registration – Not in Use
• Balance – Not in Use
• My Calendars – Not in Use
