Model UN is an academic simulation of the United Nations that aims to educate participants about civics, effective communication, globalization and multilateral diplomacy. Model UN students take on roles as diplomats and participate in a simulated world conference.
Participants research a country, take on roles as diplomats, investigate international issues, debate, deliberate, consult, and then develop solutions to world problems.
Model UN is an organization that brings students from different schools in the area together for conferences.
At a conference, each student takes on the role of a country in a particular United Nations committee. Each committee is presented with an issue that they must resolve. The delegates of each country work together to come to a solution that they can pass through their committee.
